Client: The Creative Foundation
Value: £0.20m
Role: Full Pre- and Full Post-contract service
Sector: Heritage

The project comprised the refurbishment and alteration of an existing shop with flats above to provide a new shop, flat and creative space as part of the redevelopment of the “Creative Quarter” in Folkestone. The shop opens on to the old High Street which is a narrow steep gradient cobbled street rising from the Harbour to Folkestone town centre.
Works involved the careful removal of all damaged materials and subsequent sympathetic reinstatement. This comprised extensive refurbishment internally and externally, internal re-structuring, new kitchen, bathrooms and mechanical and electrical installations. At roof level a new roof garden with decking was installed and a mosaic was added to the shop façade.
The Woodley Coles LLP was appointed to provide full pre-and full post contract service including preparation of budgets, seeking and evaluating tenders and post contract cost control through to agreement of the final account.
