Contract: JCT WCD 98 Standard Form of Building Contract With Contractor's Design 1998 Edition.

The Clients strategy is to extend the services that it currently provides in helping employees make suitable childcare arrangements. In order to achieve this, the Childcare Centre project has been developed to convert and extend an existing facility into a childcare centre to provide up to 148 childcare places for the sole use of the Clients employees. Works commenced on site in November 2004 and completed August 2005.

The project comprises the refurbishment of the existing building (as pictured), new build two-storey extension, installation of new site access bridge, upgrade to car parking and external hard stand areas and external works including play areas. The building is located off campus and involved significant liaison and review with planners, local authorities and local residents.

Directly appointed by Pfizer Ltd, The Woodley Coles LLP worked closely with the Pfizer Project Team providing Cost Management services for the overall project that included management, monitoring and reporting on all aspects of the budget alongside meeting stringent internal project control reporting requirements. We were also appointed as Employers Agent on the Main Contract.
