The Sandwich Town Council, in a review of the facilities within the town, identified a need for redevelopment of the existing Community Centre and Youth Club.  The building looked outdated and tired and was not appealing to, or meeting the needs of the community.  The STARR initiative was tasked with addressing these issues and appointed The Woodley Coles LLP to provide both Project Management and Quantity Surveying services to assist STARR in meeting their goals.

The works, designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, are being undertaken in 2006 and has been phased to enable use of the facility to be maintained and to suit funding requirements.  The facility will add a dedicated entrance for the youth club and will enable separation between the community centre and youth club both of which will have extended floor area.  This will add considerable flexibility in the use of space and give a clear identity for the youth club.

This project will elevate the centre from the 1960’s into the 21st century and provide the surrounding community with a superb asset.
