This project is the re-development of Coulsdon College, Old Coulsdon, Surrey. It is a scheme to replace all of the existing College facilities in line with Learning and Skills Council guidelines for replacement of outdated facilities to provide 21st Century learning environments.
The re-development is phased to maintain the curriculum which will be ongoing throughout the project.
The Woodley Coles LLP were initially appointed to undertake cost advice during the feasibility study and to assist in the funding application to the LSC. The practice was subsequently appointed to provide quantity surveying and contract administration services on phase 1 (£4m – JCT SBC 05) which was completed in February 2008. This phase comprised the construction of a “Pavilion” building and sports hall. The pavilion includes both teaching and leisure space including a gymnasium, sports changing facilities, dance and theatre/performance space. Externally there is also a new floodlit Multi Use Games Area and two tarmac tennis courts.
