Project: Medway LIFT Enabling Works - Temporary Health Centres
Value: £1.3 million
Client: Medway Primary Care Trust
Role: Pre and post-Contract Quantity Surveying
Sector: Health
Contract: IFC 98
The Woodley Coles LLP were appointed to provide pre and post-contract quantity surveying services on the project to provide temporary health centres on two sites in the Medway district of Kent. These works formed part of a programme of enabling works for the Medway LIFT project to replace a number of Health Centres in the Medway Primary Care Trust district.
Prior to the works to demolish the existing centres (a further Woodley Coles appointment) temporary health centres will be constructed at adjacent sites and the health centre 'operations' migrated thereto. The contract includes the hire of the temporary facilities during the programme to construct the new health centres on the cleared sites. Upon completion of, and migration to, the new facilities the temporary facilities will be dismantled and removed. The provision of temporary health centres, demolition of existing health facilities, and the construction of the new centres is carefully programmed to minimise the requirement for temporary accommodation.
