Nigel Woodley MA (Cantab) MRICS
After more than 30 years working the construction industry and the last 17 years running his own business, Nigel has decided to retire at the end of March 2018.
Graduating from Cambridge University in 1984, Nigel became a Chartered Surveyor in 1992. He worked for Banks, Wood & Partners, Bristow Johnson, Moreton and Padmore, ChandlerKBS and Davis Langdon & Everest before founding Woodley Coles with Steve Coles in 2001.
During his career, Nigel has worked on many building and civil engineering projects earning a reputation as an extremely competent, committed and highly professional Quantity Surveyor.
As Nigel approaches retirement he has handed over his responsibilities to the management team, with whom he has worked with in one way or another over the last 25 years, confident that the business he created with Steve Coles will continue to thrive.
Although he has hung up the scale rule, he is available for golf, drinking beer and watching sport.
Steve Coles BSc (Hons) MRICS
Steve is the lead-partner for our Cambridge and London offices delivering; Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Project Management, Contract Administration, Monitoring Surveyor and Principal Designer services.
Graduating from Anglia University in 1992 with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Steve became a Chartered Surveyor in 1996. He worked for Jackson & Adams, Moreton and Padmore, ChandlerKBS and Davis Langdon & Everest before founding Woodley Coles with Nigel Woodley in 2001.
Steve has a wealth of knowledge advising both public and private clients. His experience includes building and civil engineering projects. Steve’s most notable projects include the development of the Millennium Buildings at the Pfizer site in Sandwich. In the Further Education sector Steve has been involved in significant projects to redevelop Coulsdon College, Barking & Dagenham College, Barnet & Southgate College and Redbridge College.
Chris Norris BSc (Hons) MRICS
Operating from our Kent office, Chris specialises in all aspects of Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration services. Chris is the partner responsible for our City, University of London and Pfizer frameworks as well as bespoke projects
Graduating from Portsmouth University with a degree in Construction Management in 1994, Chris became a Chartered Surveyor in 1997. He worked for Moreton and Padmore and ChandlerKBS before joining Woodley Coles in 2002.
Chris’s exceptional capabilities led him to become the partner managing our team delivering projects across EMEA and APAC for Pfizer. During this time he has delivered projects in Primary, Secondary and Higher Education and notably the award winning project The Wing. Chris also has significant civil engineering experience gained whilst working on major tunneling and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Daniel Deed BSc (Hons) MRICS
Dan is the partner responsible for managing our Kent office providing; Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Project Management, Contract Administration, Monitoring Surveyor and Principal Designer services across Kent and Sussex. As part of his remit he is responsible for our KCC, Medway Council and Port of Dover frameworks.
Graduating from The University of Greenwich in 1995 with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Dan became a Chartered Surveyor in 2006. He worked for Moreton and Padmore, ChandlerKBS and Turner & Townsend before joining Woodley Coles in 2002.
From the outset Dan has supported the development of Woodley Coles, initially through the development of our pharmaceutical sector team, holding specialist roles in Sourcing & Procurement, Capex & Opex Portfolio Management and Business Operations Analyst, along with the more traditional cost management and QS roles. From 2015 Dan has had responsibility supporting the development of the Kent Office, working on notable projects including the KCC Basic Needs Education programme (Primary & Secondary), development of the Estates Strategy for college merger and one-off residential projects.
Andrew Diplock BSc (Hons) MRICS
Andrew specialises in all aspects of Quantity Surveying in relation to building and civil engineering projects.
Graduating from The Nottingham Trent University in 1996 with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Andrew became a Chartered Surveyor in 1999. He worked for Moreton and Padmore and ChandlerKBS before joining Woodley Coles in 2005.
Initially delivering a number of education and one off bespoke projects for private clients in 2008 Andrew joined our team delivering laboratory, commercial office consolidation, relocation and fit out projects across EMEA and India for Pfizer. In 2014 an opportunity arose to support the Port of Dover in the redevelopment of the Western Docks. The combination of building knowledge and Andrew’s previous civil engineering experience gained whilst working on major tunneling and wastewater infrastructure projects before joining the practice made him the ideal choice for this role.
With his meticulous approach Andrew brings a broad range of professional expertise to the practice leading his own projects and supporting the partners in the day to day management and development of the business.
